Things to Do
Upon settling down and catching a nap, we decided to go on a tour of the island as provided by the resort. A golf cart went to where our room was and took us to the different parts of the resort. I was glad we got to do this first as we were familiarized with the amenities and their locations as well as gave us an idea on how to spend our stay in Bellarocca. The tour lasted for 15 minutes.

What is an ideal vacation for you? I admit, I like the stress that comes with the preparation for a vacation. I do my research but try not to overdo it so that I remain to be enthusiastic about the place, especially if it is my first time.

Now, a beach vacation is an entirely different story. When going to the beach is the plan, I instantly crave to take a back seat and just let everything that should happen, happen. It is also how I have vacations when in Baguio. It is not exactly doable for me when in Boracay though because the island changes and evolves and is so alive, I feel like I have to keep up.

The resistance of the mattress of the bed was perfect for my back. It was hard enough for body support but still soft enough to feel very comfortable. The pillows had the same feel as the mattress. The sheets were white and soft. Best of all, they were unscented thus did not trigger any of my weird allergies. I woke up relatively early the next morning. It was very tempting not to leave the bed but I was hungry.

We’re supposed to be in the middle of summer now, but my stay in Boracay last March was half gloomy-half sunny, which I don’t quite understand why. These days, I’ve been experiencing cool nights in the metro. It is nice but it is eerie at the same time.
I am not sure what to make of my last trip. The island has been overly commercialized for years but I did not mind until this year. The prices of the food, activities, transportation and even accessories have increased. I guess the island has also been affected by inflation and I’m not sure I like it.
I can no longer count how many times I’ve been to the island, I just love it and I always keep coming back. I blogged about it in the past two years (2009 and 2010).
Anyway, for this post to be a bit different from the ones I made before, I figured I’ll share with you what are the new things to do in the island for the summer of 2011. Excuse the other items as they may have been in existence for quite some time but I have only discovered them now.

What’s a trip outside Manila without a visit to the beach? Beats me.

Punta Bulata is a resort around 160 km South of Bacolod City (roughly three hours away by land, because it is somewhat off-the-beaten path with occasional rough roads), which has a 1 km stretch of white sand beach. During low tide, the sea goes way past the break water, 500 meters from the shore. Amazing huh?
