Delicious Pizza from Nolita

Posted on October 30th, 2012 by Kristel

Much has been written about Nolita that it actually triggered my interest to try it out. Said to have that New York pizza style in both flavor and serving, those were what it took for me to try it out. As I saw printed on the receipt, Nolita is short for North of Little Italy which is an actual place in New York City. NYC likes doing these short-cuts to their neighborhoods such as TriBeCa (Triangle Below Canal street), SoHo (South of Houston street) and NoHo (North of Houston Street).

Happy Hour And Beyond at Rocket Room

Posted on October 12th, 2012 by Kristel

I had not gone to Fort for a while until last Friday. More establishments have opened at the High Street Central area since I was there last. Rocket Room is a place where you can spend an after-office drink in jazz or (slightly old) pop music. Being there made me feel relaxed and glad that the week was over. I think it is frequented by ex-pats as most of the guests the Friday night I was there were. Also, I suggest going there during happy hour (4pm-8pm everyday – please call to double check) where local beers are buy 1 take 1 and red & white wines as well as the martinis are discounted.

Saying I love Japanese food is an understatement. If there was a more intense adjective than love then probably that would aptly describe how much I like Japanese food. It is really one of my favourite dishes to eat (competing against Italian, but it’s difficult to choose just one). Anyway, when I got an invite about a Sake Night, I was intrigued. It ended up to be pairing the food with a specific kind of sake. I have never tasted so much variety of sake in my entire life until that night.

L’Entrecôte à Manille

Posted on June 26th, 2011 by Kristel

This is probably an old concept to the world but I believe a relatively new concept in the country. The concept was to serve only steak and fries to the patrons of the restaurant. The steak and fries dining of the Parisians is probably what adobo and sinigang is to us, comfort food.

I have always wanted to try this out because although I mostly do away with beef, I happen to like steaks. I have availed vouchers from Pakyaw for this. It was at Php 595 per set menu which meant 50% off from their usual price of the Menu Geneva.

Gelato at Bar Dolci

Posted on June 7th, 2011 by Kristel

After reading a bunch of reviews about this establishment, I finally got to try it out. There were several choices of gelato flavours to choose from. As I made my way to one of their servers, tasting a lot of the flavours, my brother, my Mom and myself decided to order 500 grams worth of ice cream which cost Php 400 instead of ordering 3 little cups which would cost Php 120 each. Worth it, don’t you think?
