I am one of the fortunate ones who have been able to join the Flow retreat a couple of months ago (thanks to When in Manila, Hannah and the Flow Girls). I guess the universe knew I needed something like it just to get away from my daily routine even for just a little while.

Wild Water Rafting in Davao

Fine, I rest my case. During our experience, the water was brown due to the rain the night before. So, muddy water rafting or wild water rafting it is (instead of white water rafting)! Hehe.

I’m always up for adventure and doing crazy things I’ve never done before. That is not to say I don’t get scared. As a matter of fact, I always go through these crazy adventures terrified. I’m too afraid of heights and I don’t like unpredictability. That being said, it takes a ton of effort to talk to myself to be calm and convince myself to just go through whatever it is that I will regret at the end if I didn’t.

And so this was one of the entries in my bucket list. White water rafting sounded to me like a lot of fun. It seemed exhilarating to be going through that entire experience, especially hearing the gushing water all throughout. I was initially planning to try this if not in Cagayan de Oro, then maybe in New Zealand. But as life would happen, nothing is ever predictable. Thus, I gave this one a go. Also, this was included in the voucher that we availed.

We were dropped-off at the same place where the Crocodile Farm was. The guests were gathered inside, where gears (life jacket, paddles, helmets, rafts, etc.) rest and other amenities such as locker cabinets and water were. A television in this area was playing a video on loop about the water rafting happened in the past.
