I am sure by now you have heard that Spiral has reopened. I have read a few of the media releases and some blogs about the launch and I have been meaning to try it ever since. Luckily, I got an assignment to write about it on When in Manila (read about the post I wrote here).

I love desserts but lately I have been avoiding (as much as I can) to consume too much sugar. It is getting easier although I am having more trouble saying no to chocolates. I love them, I really do. And, the darker, the better.

I barely have “practice” when it comes to consuming several glasses of wine because, well, I do not think it is appropriate for me anymore, thus when I have a tad too many, I easily get buzzed. And when I get the slightest feeling of being buzzed from alcohol, I do not dare drive (I did once, I was so glad I was able to go home alive, so I promised never to do that again, EVER. So kids, please don’t drink and drive). Therefore the reason we ended up at Slice.

I blogged about Spiral a couple of years ago and now that it is under renovation, I can’t help but to look forward to its re-opening come August this year. During the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila’s official website launch, I got a glimpse of the food being offered by the hotel lately.

I love cakes but I don’t exactly crave for them unless I see one (okay, maybe Diamond Hotel’s Le Royale is an exemption). Apparently, there is this establishment along Valero in Makati’s Salcedo Village that I just heard about. I am sure I am a hundred million years late. Anyway, it’s called Claudette’s and they sell this divine chocolate cake called Cloud Nine.
