The Chocolate Library at The Peninsula Manila

Posted on December 31st, 2012 by Kristel

I have been living on a “just say yes” for quite some time now. Although it is costing me quite a sum of money compared to how I usually spend, I am having the time of my life. I know soon enough this “yes-spree” has to come to an end because I am sometimes driving myself crazy from all the commitments and activities I have said yes to (but please know, with all my heart, I want/wanted to do them).

Posted on December 26th, 2012 by Kristel

I am sure by now you have heard that Spiral has reopened. I have read a few of the media releases and some blogs about the launch and I have been meaning to try it ever since. Luckily, I got an assignment to write about it on When in Manila (read about the post I wrote here).

Manila Peninsula’s Buffet at Escolta

Anyway, Escolta is relatively new. Manila Peninsula rebranded this restaurant so well, I couldn’t even remember its old name even if I was able to dine then more than a couple of times, including during shortly after the Magdalo mutiny incident. Today, Escolta offers a variety of different cuisines spread out for its guests to be enjoyed under one venue.

Upon being directed to our table, we were served a small tray full of different kinds of breads with butter. Our drink preference (not included in the price) was asked as well. After settling down but before getting too comfortable, we managed to walk around the spread to inspect on what were being offered.

Dusit Hotel’s Basix

Posted on September 3rd, 2011 by Kristel

I have tried eating at Basix before back in 2009 when my sister graduated from high school. I remember the place being cozy, laid back and un-busy. I guess blame it on the vouchers sold that made the place quite chaotic for a Thursday afternoon, but then again I would not have tried dining here again if it weren’t for the vouchers which made us pay Php 699 per person instead of the usual Php 1400.
